Effective Reading Resources

As a college student, you will need to learn how to read a large amount of material in a short amount of time, while retaining the important ideas that are being presented.  You will have to make strategic decision about what to read and how to read it, especially if you are taking several reading intensive courses.  It is okay to skim textbook material and not always read every word.  This doesn’t mean reading sloppily or skipping entire pages.  However, it means that you are attempting to acquire the most amount of information in the shortest amount of time.
